Two Palestinians have been killed by Israeli settlers in the Israeli-occupied West Bank. The killing happened on Monday (April 15), Palestinian officials said. French news agency AFP reported.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, the victims of the attack near Nablus are Abdul Rahman Maher Bani Fadel (30) and Mohammad Ashraf Bani Jami (21).
Aqraba mayor Salah Bani Jaber told AFP that dozens of settlers attacked Khirbet al-Taweel late Monday night.
He also said that they attacked the residents and fired at the townspeople. Two citizens were killed. The occupying Israeli forces withheld the bodies.
The Israeli army said initial investigations indicated the fatal shots were not fired by soldiers. There are reports of a Palestinian attack in Gitit area. Violent clashes ensued between Israeli civilians and Palestinians. Troops were sent there to quell the violence. Two Palestinians were reported killed during the violence.
Earlier on Friday, a 14-year-old boy went missing near Ramallah. Later, hundreds of settlers attacked nearby villages. Two Palestinians were killed and dozens injured.
The discovery of the teenager’s body on Saturday escalated Israeli settler violence against Palestinians.
Violence has escalated since early last year in the West Bank, which Israel occupied in 1967. Especially after the start of the war in Gaza on October 7. At least 468 Palestinians have been killed in West Bank attacks by Israeli forces and settlers since October 7, according to Palestinian health officials.
