The Israeli military said when asked by AFP that it had “no” comment to make “for now” on reports of “strong explosions” in the area where a military base is located in central Iran’s Isfahan province (photo, top , from X).
“We have no comment at this time,” a spokesman for the Israeli armed forces was limited to saying.
Israel announced earlier this week that it would respond to Iran’s attack over the weekend with hundreds of drones and missiles.
The Israeli army also announced this morning that warning sirens were activated in northern Israel.
Earlier, American television network ABC News reported that missiles fired by Israeli aircraft hit a facility in Iran.
Iranian media reported that explosions were heard in the area of the airport of the city of Isfahan (central Iran), where a military base is located, adding that the reason is not yet known and that “investigations are underway.”
Several drones were shot down
Several drones were “shot down” by Iran’s anti-aircraft defense in the early hours of Friday, but, at least “so far,” there is no information about a missile attack, a spokesman for Iran’s space agency assured.
“Until this time, there has been no air attack from abroad on Isfahan or other parts of the country,” Hussein Dalirian said via X, contradicting the US TV network’s reports of an Israeli attack on Iran.
