Israel and the Palestinian radical group Hamas have agreed on the main points of a new agreement on a ceasefire and the exchange of hostages. This was reported by the EFE agency on March 5, citing Palestinian and Egyptian sources.
“The two sides have now reached an agreement, according to which the truce will last 40 days, during which 40 Israeli hostages, including women, children and men over 60, will be released in exchange for the release of 404 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons,” EFE “Interfax” quotes an excerpt from its publication.
It is noted that negotiations on the deal are still ongoing in Cairo.
