“Israel” revealed that it earned huge revenues from selling natural gas revenues to Egypt.

The Israeli Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure said that it set a new record, in 2023, in collecting gas revenues, most of which were from Egypt, adding: The Ministry collected an unprecedented amount of 2.19 billion shekels in exchange for natural gas revenues.

According to the Israeli “ice” website, data from the “Israeli Ministry of Energy” stated that Tel Aviv’s revenues from natural gas exceeded the threshold of 2.5 billion shekels, compared to 2022 data, which amounted to 1.7 billion shekels, an increase of 28.8%, or about half a billion shekels. .

The website explained that in 2023 there was an increase of about 25% in the amount of natural gas exports to Egypt and Jordan.

It is noteworthy that in 2022, energy companies in “Israel” produced 21.29 billion cubic meters of natural gas, of which 9.21 billion were exported, and went to Egypt and Jordan.

Egypt relies on imports of “Israeli” gas to meet part of its domestic demand, as well as for re-export. According to Rystad Energy company data late last year, Egypt imports about 7 billion cubic feet annually of natural gas from the “Israeli” Tamar and Leviathan gas fields.
