Daniel Hagari, the spokesperson of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), referred to the suspension of the arms supply by the USA, which is due to the Israeli military operation in Rafah.
The Times of Israel reports that when talking about the suspension of the supply of heavy bombs, Hagari gave importance to the coordination between the two countries “unprecedented in the history of Israel”.
He noted that the allies resolve their differences “behind closed doors”.
“We are responsible for Israel’s security interests and pay attention to the US interests in the region,” Hagari said.
Daniel Hagari also emphasized the cooperation between the IDF and US Central Command during the war, adding that “there is something more important than security support, and that is operational support.”
As “Armenpress” reported earlier, the USA has stopped supplying bombs to Israel, as there are fears that they will be used during military operations in the city of Rafah, located in the south of the Gaza Strip. The shipment, which was suspended last week, includes 1,800 bombs weighing 2,000 pounds (900 kg) and 1,700 bombs weighing 500 pounds (225 kg), CNN reported.
On May 7, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) established control over the Rafah checkpoint. Earlier, IPB reported that the Israeli military launched a “limited” operation in the eastern region of Rafah. They ordered the Palestinians there to evacuate.
