iPhone 16 Pro will get exclusive features on iPhone 15 Pro Max

According to the latest rumors, iPhone 16 Pro users will be equipped with a periscope camera like the iPhone 15 Pro Max that Apple launched last year. This allows users to perform 5x optical zoom without losing quality. As a result, the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max will have the same photography configuration instead of being differentiated between the previous iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max versions.

This information was published by Digitimes, and in fact, details about the upgrade in the iPhone 16 Pro’s camera have appeared many times before. According to the report, Apple is buying the necessary materials for this change from two suppliers, including Largan Precision and Genius Electronic Optical (GSEO) – the two companies responsible for building the quad-prism sensors for Apple smartphones.

Largan Precision is responsible for supplying these same components for the iPhone 15 Pro Max and remains the primary supplier. Meanwhile, GSEO is now undergoing traditional quality checks. If everything meets Apple’s standards, mass production will begin in mid-July — a timeline that would coincide with the iPhone 16 Pro’s likely September launch.

In fact, Largan Precision expects peak component sales to occur between September and November, which is during the first months of the iPhone 16 Pro’s availability.

From a user perspective, this means the iPhone 16 Pro will offer the best possible photography experience. Unlike last year’s release, users won’t have to buy the most expensive model to get all the new features.

In 2023, Apple justified the exclusive use of this sensor on the iPhone 15 Pro Max due to lack of space. However, the iPhone 16 Pro is expected to increase the screen size from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches, which will help the company add more space to accommodate this new periscope lens camera.
