In a public statement issued after the hearing held today before the Environmental Court, Las Salinas, the company in charge of real estate development on 16 hectares in front of Avenida Jorge Montt in Viña del Mar, said it was committed to the comprehensive sanitation of the area.

Valuing the instance as an opportunity to highlight the quality of its work, the real estate arm of Empresas Copec—of the Angelini Group—underlined that its project already has the relevant authorizations from the country’s environmental institutions. This project aims to complete the sanitation of the aforementioned hectares and then begin real estate construction.

The real estate company reported that, in addition, as part of the process of selecting the “remediation” technique, dozens of technologies were analyzed, piloting nine of them. After this analysis, it was determined that “bioremediation”, which they claim has been in global application for more than 40 years, was the most appropriate for Las Salinas.

In addition, he reiterated his commitment to comply with the project approved by the Committee of Ministers, with a view to starting sanitation work in the second half of 2024.
