Of 42,436 applications from Mexicans abroad to vote, the majority with credentials processed in Mexico, 39,724 were found to be inadmissible. Of which, 1,830 have irregularities or inconsistencies in the signature, that is, they present illegible signatures, photocopies instead of a handwritten signature or lack of coincidence with the signature on the credential.

Since the notifications were issued, at the end of last week and until next May 5, citizens will be able to send an email to [email protected] to request clarification of your registration situation. The INE regretted the failure in institutional communication and mentioned that even if someone is unable to make their clarification, or, if your time is running out, it becomes complicated and your clarification is not appropriate, you can vote. They are not excluded from the possibility of voting. If they have a voter ID card abroad, they will be able to vote at consular offices and, in national territory, in their corresponding or special polling stations.

The National Electoral Institute (INE) reported that Its priority is to guarantee the integrity and reliability of the Nominal List of Voters and that those people who authentically requested registration to vote from abroad can correct their records.

Mexicans residing abroad may vote in any of the available modalities: electronic voting online, postal voting or in-person voting.

It was indicated that the INE has to guarantee the reliability of the Electoral Roll, that each person casts a vote and that the people who registered to vote from abroad are precisely them and they who determined that they want to vote from abroad. That is why these controls are generated, to know exactly who they are, where they are and whether they are the people who registered or not.

Since the weekend, personalized monitoring of these 39,724 cases began, precisely to point out specifically what the document is or what situation each of these Mexicans would have to correct. It is expected that most of the cases will be resolved and in some cases the criminal authorities will be contacted.to the Specialized Prosecutor for Electoral Crimes, to determine if they constitute a crime, because it may be that the people who are registered are not even those who have

had the will to register from abroad, which this Institute also has to protect and provide evidence for the alleged or probable commission of a crime in electoral matters.

The same procedure was carried out as in previous elections and IP address patterns were followed, with the same zip code, signature absences and in total 42,436 applications were reviewedOf these, 40,733 were with a Credential processed in Mexico and 1,703 were processed abroad. So far, approximately one thousand people have contacted the INE to review their situation.
