INE points out 50% of the Angolan population is poor

Data from the National Institute of Statistic(INE) point out that the poverty rate in Angola is estimated at around 50 percent of the population, with difficulties relating to access to sectors such as education and health, as well as child registration.

This statement was made this Thursday (19), in Luanda, by the deputy general director of INE, Ana Paula Jordão, when speaking to the press at the presentation of the 2030 Agenda Baseline Indicators Report (SDG).

However, according to the director, the quality of life index of Angolans is growing annually, as a result of State policies in areas such as the supply of water and electricity, which will contribute to well-being.

The official said that the main objective of the event is to make data from the Sustainable Development Goals available so that the Government and partners can use them in the future.

“The data is provided by the National Statistics Institute, through surveys of households or companies and by sectors, in their daily records”, he declared.

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is based on 17 sustainable development objectives and 169 targets that must be implemented by all countries in the world by 2030.
