After 10 years of waiting, Indonesia was finally able to win two titles at the All England event. The last time the Red and White Team won two titles was in 2014, where two titles were won in the men’s doubles and mixed doubles sectors.
At that time, the men’s doubles title was presented by Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan. Meanwhile, the mixed doubles title was won by Tontowi Ahmad/Liliyana Natsir.
Now, after 10 years have passed, Indonesia has finally brought home two titles from All England. The two titles were presented in the men’s singles and men’s doubles sectors.
The first title came from men’s singles through Jonatan Christie. Playing the All Indonesian Final against Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, Jonatan won with a score of 21-15 and 21-14.
Meanwhile, the second title was confirmed by men’s doubles, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto. They managed to beat the resistance of the Malaysian pair, Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik with a score of 21-16 and 21-16.
Indonesia’s achievements at All England 2024 this time have indeed made a lot of new history. Especially in the men’s singles sector, which has been waiting for the title for 30 years.
Ginting and Jonathan have worked together to make history since the semifinals. Ultimately, they were finally able to create the All Indonesian Final and seal the title after 30 years of waiting.
