On Monday evening, a bloody conflict broke out between two neighbors over parking in the town of Kastel Stafilic in Croatia. Two men were fatally injured in the clash. One of them was shot by a criminal with a criminal record, and the other – who was trying to help the wounded man – was hit from behind with an axe, reports the Croatian Index.

According to the newspaper, both men were taken to the hospital in Split. The police arrested the perpetrator, a criminal investigation into the circumstances of the incident is underway, but all that can be known in advance is that it was a clash between neighbors.

It wasn’t the first time the former sailor attacked others

The conflict allegedly arose over parking, in which an employee of the Central Dalmatian Croatian Mountain Rescue Service (HGSS) was shot in the abdomen and leg. The man was taken to the hospital in Split.

Photos taken from the investigation show forensic experts marking holes in the car, which means the rescue worker was still in the car when the gunman shot him. Citing the local newspaper Slobodna Dalmacija, the paper writes that the attacker, after shooting his neighbor, fatally wounded another man with an ax who was trying to help the wounded man.

The paper also writes that the perpetrator is a former sailor, and that 21 years ago he was reported for attempted murder and illegal possession of weapons. Then he stabbed an 18-year-old man in the back and stomach because he urinated on the wall of his house.
