Publika.az reports that the mayor of the city, Vasili Kozupitsa, informed TASS about this.
He noted that a gap was discovered in the dam in the area of Borisoglebski Street, which caused water to flow into the city.
“The situation is getting more and more complicated. First there was a flood in the area of Borisoglebskaya Street, then the dam broke. Water is flowing rapidly into the city. I am asking everyone, considering the sad experience of the Old City, it will be difficult to evacuate. I ask you to evacuate in time,” said Kozupica.
Before that, the regional government stated that there is no danger of flooding of new micro-districts in the city of Orsk, Orenburg region.
It should be recalled that in the evening of April 5, a dam exploded in two places at once in the city of Orsk, Orenburg Region. According to local residents, there has been a leak for several days. Several thousand buildings and farms have already been flooded.
At the same time, on April 3, two days before the collapse of the dam in Orsk, the mayor of the city, Vasiliy Kozupitsa, inspected the hydraulic installation and said that there was no danger of flooding.
