The indecent act against the statue of the prominent Azerbaijani poet and public figure Khurshidbanu Nateva erected in 2017 in Evian-le-Bain, France is vandalism and an insulting step against the cultural factor in general.
Publika.az reports that this is stated in the statement of the World Young Turkish Writers Union.
“Khurshidbanu Natavan is one of the brightest figures in the history of Azerbaijan. He is remembered with gratitude for the services he rendered to culture during his lifetime, as well as for the work he did for the better life of people. He has been recorded in history both as a poet and as a philanthropist.
We, as members of the World Young Turkish Writers’ Union from different countries of the Turkic world, condemn this action against the statue of the prominent poet of Azerbaijan, Khurshidbanu Nateva, and declare that such actions are unacceptable.
