In December, a record amount of dollars was sold in Azerbaijan – 2024-02-13 02:00:34

Despite the fact that December is not yet over, 603.8 million dollars were sold only through the auctions of the Central Bank.

Publika.az reports that MP Vugar Bayramov shared about the issue on his social media account.

“Due to the season and other reasons, there is an increase in the demand for dollars in several months, especially in December. The increase in Azerbaijani imports is also creating demand for the dollar. In the first 10 months of this year, 14 billion 174 million dollars of imports were recorded. Therefore, increases in imports also increase dollar purchases. Even if Azerbaijan does not switch to a floating exchange rate regime, the demand for dollars is increasing. It is for this reason that the Central Bank does not rule out intervention next year.”

Note that the figures for other months are as follows: November – 234.7 million dollars; October- 202.6 million dollars; September- 164.5 million dollars; August- 93.9 million dollars; July- 272.7 million dollars; June- 78.9 million dollars; May- 277.2 million dollars; April- 286 million dollars; March-$383.9 million; February – $356.6 million and January – $188.5 million. In the remaining period of 2023, orders of 3 billion 143 million dollars were created in the auctions of the Central Bank.
