MEXICO CITY (apro).- Jorge Álvarez Máynez, presidential candidate of the Citizen Movement (MC), assured that, if he becomes president of the Republic, he will eliminate section 5 of the Mayan Train.

During his visit to the Enrique Díaz de León University, located in Guadalajara, Jalisco, the Emecista candidate highlighted that nature must be protected from the Magna Carta.

“Goodbye to Section 5 of the Mayan Train because it is the most destructive, in terms of cenotes and bodies of water. We have to protect, from the Constitution, nature, give a legal figure to our mangroves, our cenotes, our bodies of water, so that they have legal protection, as well as living beings, such as animals, that their rights are guaranteed. rights.

“The Mayan Train should have been electric to generate less pollution and must adhere to other criteria. We have to modify it and we have to do the projects like this,” he explained.

The presidential candidate for Movimiento Ciudadano emphasized that, when talking about the sustainable project model, countries cannot only aspire to rich countries and gave the example of Costa Rica.
