ICICI Bank introduces a unique security measure ‘SmartLock’ on iMobile Pay

Hyderabad Hyderabad: ICICI Bank today announced that it has launched ‘SmartLock’, a unique security measure that will enable its customers to instantly lock/unlock a number of banking services, without the help of a customer care executive via phone or e-mail. Available on iMobile Pay, it empowers customers to lock/unlock access to Internet Banking, UPI (including payments from other UPI apps linked to the bank account), credit and debit cards with just a click of a button, putting the security of their account in their own hands. A first of its kind measure in the Indian banking sector, ‘SmartLock’ also allows customers to lock/unlock the entire iMobile Pay.
Customers can use this facility to deactivate a particular banking service during a certain period. They can also use it in case of potentially fraudulent transactions. It is worth noting that the ‘SmartLock’ facility allows scheduled standing instructions (SIs) and e-mandates to be executed even when the banking service is locked by the customer. Speaking on this initiative, Mr. Siddharth Mishra, Head, Digital Channels and Partnerships, ICICI Bank said, “Security of our customers’ accounts is of utmost importance to us. The introduction of ‘SmartLock’ is another effort by the Bank to safeguard the security of customer accounts and protect their interests. This Do-It-Yourself (DIY) facility provides customers with enhanced security for banking services in their hands at one place. The introduction of ‘SmartLock’ is a part of the Bank’s various ‘Safe Banking’ initiatives.”
