Working at the Blue Dragon organization for ten years now, Mr. Nguyen Quang Anh – an employee of the Law Department – has witnessed and heard countless heartbreaking stories about victims of human trafficking.

There were victims who, upon returning to the organization’s headquarters, were still covered in injuries from being beaten or injured on the escape journey.

Some people have a long incision on their abdomen – a trace of a time they almost had their kidney taken but luckily they were not compatible with the recipient so… it’s still intact. There are even people who, when they come here, still have a handbook in their pocket instructing them on 20 ways to commit online fraud. Some people still contacted Blue Dragon to ask for help, but when they asked later, they found out how long they had died…

Mr. Quang Anh said, the victims were tricked into going across the border to find a job with a good salary but ended up being forced into labor, forced into prostitution, and forced to defraud others. … too many to mention.

A few have been rescued, but many of them are still imprisoned in the “dens” of gangsters, still texting and calling Blue Dragon’s social workers every day to help them. please guide and rescue.

“Victims who are tricked into crossing the border are often promised an attractive salary that they will never get in Vietnam, but when they get to the other side, they are ‘disillusioned’.

Usually when they first arrive, the victim will be more loosely controlled and can still use the phone and social networks to contact their family and the police in Vietnam. After working for a while, if they can’t do the job – that is, they can’t trick many people into transferring money, they will have to borrow money for food and accommodation. The amount of money gets bigger and bigger and the house arrest gets stricter, worse, they don’t allow you to use phones or computers anymore.”

One of the ways to escape their “lair” is to ask your family to send ransom money. However, most human trafficking victims come from difficult circumstances and come from remote areas. The ransom amount was too large for their family. Furthermore, sending a ransom does not guarantee that their loved ones will be returned when they are in control.

Those who cannot do the job and do not have a ransom will be at high risk of being sold to a third party. This is the worst case for victims because behind this transaction will be situations that endanger their lives. their network.
