A book about actor Humayun Faridi has been published after an era of death. The name of the book is ‘Humayun Faridi: Common and Extraordinary’.
60 people have dived into memoirs about Faridi. And the cover of that book was painted by another actor Afzal Hossain, a close friend of the late actor.
May 29, Faridi’s 72nd birthday, was chosen for the unveiling of the book. On this day, the cover of this book was unveiled in a commemoration ceremony organized with Faridi on the roof terrace of Channel I located in Tejgaon of the capital.
The book ‘Humayun Faridi: Common and Extraordinary’ is edited by Ahmed Rezaur Rahman. And the 60 people who presented their various memoirs with Faridi, they are all people from the world of art and culture.
Rezaur Rahman said that all those who wrote in the book were connected with Humayun Faridi in various ways. His acting friends have written about him on living, on other memories. I have edited the text.
He said, director Nasir Uddin Yusuf, fiction writer Imdadul Haque Milan, actor Raisul Islam Asad, actress Ferdousi Majumder, Jaya Ahsan, actor Afran Nisho and many others have written in the book. Family members also wrote.

Faridi was born on May 29, 1952 in Dhaka. Studied in Jahangirnagar University Department of Economics. He got involved with Dhaka theater while studying in the university. His stage plays ‘Triratna’, ‘Keetankhola’, ‘Muntasir Fantasy’, ‘Keramat Mangal’ are famous. Along with acting on stage, he also directed.
Faridi has acted in many TV dramas including ‘Neel Nakshade’, ‘Durveen Dhee’, ‘Bhangane Shabd Shuni’, ‘Nikker Naman’, ‘Mohana’, ‘Guptadhaan’, ‘Samphtak’, ‘Bhaber Hat’, ‘Kothao Kew Nei’. Gain immense popularity. However, he took himself to another height by playing the role of ‘Kan Kata Ramzan’ in the serial ‘Samshaptak’.
Faridi also came to the cinema later. His films include ‘Ekattare Jeshu’, ‘Terror’, ‘Bachelor’, ‘Jayatra’ and ‘Shyamalchaya’. He also gained fame by portraying villains in commercial films.
Humayun Faridi won the National Film Award for the best actor in 2004 for the movie ‘Matritva’.
