Humans will become extinct faster. IFL SCIENCE
As reported by the Daily Mail, a study based on computer simulations carried out by a team of scientists at the University of Bristol states that the Earth is facing global extinction which will also wipe out all mammalian life.
If there was life on earth at that time, it would have had to adapt to temperatures between 40 degrees Celsius and 70 degrees Celsius, they said.
“Carbon dioxide levels are also expected to double compared to now. “Humans and other mammal species will become extinct due to the inability to release heat through sweat to cool the body,” said senior researcher and study leader, Dr. Alexander Farnsworth.
According to him, in the next 250 million years, all the continents on Earth will combine to form a ‘super’ continent known as Pangea Ultima.
The results of this research also found that only around eight to 16 percent of the land on Earth was suitable for mammalian species to inhabit at that time, but it was very likely that all of these species would become extinct.
“Only truly unique mammals had the potential to survive,” explains Farnsworth.
The study was published in the journal Nature Geoscience last Friday.
