Apart from not eating late, stress, and consuming caffeine drinks, you can also avoid stomach relapse with chewing. Chewing food should not be careless and not very quickly.
This unknowingly makes the performance of the stomach and other organs increasingly difficult, causing ulcers to recur. Doctor and health content creator, dr. Kevin Mak explained that chewing for a longer time can help digestive enzymes from the mouth and saliva will be more effective at breaking down food.
This can avoid an extreme increase in stomach acid in the body.
“By chewing longer, digestive enzymes from the mouth and saliva will be more effective at breaking down food,” said Dr. Kevin was quoted by me on his personal Instagram account @drkevinmak, Tuesday (16/4/2024).
“So when food enters the stomach, digestion becomes smoother and stomach acid levels don’t increase to extreme levels,” he continued.
Ideally humans chew food 24 to 32 times. But of course not everyone wants to count how much food they have chewed.
Therefore, dr. Kevin suggests setting aside five to seven seconds longer to chew food than usual.
