Dimitris Seremetis was called, very young, to pass a double test in the hellholes of the junta’s EAT – ESA: to break and speak for his comrades or collapse from torture and break anyway. One of the many who experienced the violence of Cheliga, the Sheriff, Genghis Khan, Lucky Luke, as were the nicknames of the torturers who also experimented with his own body and mind. In his book “Torture in the ESA” (published by Polis) he compiles the diary of those days with later thoughts. He distances himself and re-approaches the cell and the brutal blows. On the occasion of tomorrow’s black anniversary, he speaks to us.
