When you listen to music, you can feel an increase in strength or, on the contrary, its relaxing effect. But regardless of the listener’s reaction to music, it has a certain effect on the human psyche.

Publika.az reports that scientists have listed the positive and negative qualities of the influence of music as follows;

The positive effect of music:

The ability to relax quickly. The combination of different frequencies, playing time, and amplitude of the tracks allows the human body to move from a state of tension to a state of relaxation. Classical compositions have a particularly good effect: the level of cortisol in the blood decreases, it has a calming and analgesic effect.

Improving concentration. Mozart’s works and similar compositions affect the areas of the cerebral cortex responsible for concentration and memory activation. The peak of brain activity occurs during the period of silence between sounds – this is when the brain is activated.

Memory improvement. When listening to music, neural connections are activated that affect the speed of information retention.

Increased synthesis of dopamine (“hormone of joy”) and improvement of mood. An increase in blood circulation in the brain is observed in the departments responsible for arousal, motivation and emotions.

The negative effect of music on the human body

Club music and hard rock usually have a negative effect on the human psyche. This is due to rhythms and frequencies that can damage brain cells. The negative effects on humans are listed as follows;

  • The emergence of suicidal tendencies;
  • aggressive behavior;
  • The emergence of a depressive state;
  • Anger;
  • Violation of concentration;
  • Emotional disturbance.

Each person prefers a certain direction in music. But when choosing musical works – think about your mental well-being. (saglamolun.az)
