ASSUMPTION. In a desperate act, a man climbed to the top of an antenna at the Veterinary Faculty of the National University of Asunción (UNA), threatening to jump in search of help for his sick pets. The person, whose identity was not revealed, was helpless after seeking assistance for his cats, which suffer from health problems, said the dean of the academic unit, Viviana Ríos, who managed to persuade the individual to come down from the dangerous height.

The dean also made a personal commitment to provide the necessary care for the animals. Among them, “Macaco” stands out, a 9-year-old cat, who is in the most critical condition and will be prioritized for treatment. “We sympathize with him. ‘Macaco’ is going to receive attention,” said Dean Ríos.

According to Ríos’ statements, the man had visited several public services in search of help, but had not been able to obtain the necessary assistance for his pets. Additionally, he noted that in the private sector, veterinary care is extremely expensive, making access to necessary services even more difficult.

The man would have expressed that these pets are his only company in life, underscoring the emotional importance they have for him.
