Hasto PDIP Called Ganjar’s Declaration Not Joining the Prabowo-Gibran Government a Reflection of the Party’s Attitude

JAKARTA – Secretary General (Sekjen) DPP Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle ( PDIP ) Hasto Kristiyanto gave a signal regarding his party’s stance on being outside the government Prabowo-Gibran . According to him, Ganjar Pranowo’s statement that he chose not to join the Prabowo-Gibran government was a reflection of his party’s attitude.

“Yes, of course (a reflection of the party’s attitude), because this is an attitude of statesmanship,” said Hasto after attending the TPN Ganjar-Mahfud halalbihalal event at the Teuku Umar 9 Command Post, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Monday (6/5/2024) evening.

Hasto explained that the political attitude shown by Ganjar was a good thing too. Even though he chose to be outside government, he believes this attitude does not dampen his commitment to serve the nation and state. Moreover, currently the Indonesian nation is facing a number of problems such as food problems, investment, environmental problems due to the impact of global warming, the impact of global geopolitical struggles, and a number of other problems.

“Everyone needs mutual cooperation from all components of the nation. That is the energy that will be provided,” he said.

Previously, Ganjar Pranowo declared his stance after losing in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres). Ganjar confirmed that he would not join the Prabowo-Gibran government. This declaration of political stance was conveyed by Ganjar when giving a speech at the Ganjar-Mahfud National Winning Team (TPN) halalbihalal event which was held at the Teuku Umar 9 Command Post, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Monday (6/5/2024) evening.

“We will never stop loving this Republic, we will guard it properly, and I declare first, I will not join this government,” said Ganjar, who was immediately greeted by applause from a number of Ganjar-Mahfud TPN officials.
