MEXICO CITY (apro).- Last weekend José Iván Zazueta Chavarin, known as “Boni”, who was part of the staff of the renowned Mexican regional group, Grupo Firme, died.
The death of the driver of one of the trucks transporting Grupo Firme’s sound and stage equipment occurred hours before the concert that the group gave in Tapachula, Chiapas.
According to various reports, “Boni”, 58, died of cardiorespiratory arrest in a hotel room in Tapachula, in the middle of the “La Última Peda” tour.
During the concert, Grupo Firme paid tribute to Zazueta, with music, flowers and alcohol, with which they said goodbye to their partner.
“This one was for you Boni. You will always be in our hearts,” Grupo Firme’s official Instagram page shared in a post.
For his part, member Eduin Caz also shared several photos of the event, in which “Boni” was present with his photograph. “A very crazy day, many emotions and many mixed feelings, but I hope you had fun and it was worth every peso you spent on your ticket.”
As reported by “La Jornada”, sources from the State Attorney General’s Office indicated that the man died of cardiac arrest, presumably as a result of an overdose due to substance use, although the investigations continue.
