MADRID, (Portaltic/EP). – Google Maps will incorporate functions with satellite connectivity, a novelty that the technology company is working on and that would allow sharing the user’s updated location.

The technology company is preparing support so that users can use Google Maps with a satellite connection, as seen in the beta application code for this service (v11.125).

As reported in PiunikaWeb, the discovery, made by AssembleDebug, users will be able to update their location every 15 minutes via satellite, and up to five times a day, as shown in lines of code.

This feature can be useful in emergency situations where the user is in places where there is no coverage or mobile data. It would, however, only be compatible with smartphones that have support for satellite connection.

This novelty would arrive together with Android 15, the next iteration of Google’s operating system, which has already been seen to introduce compatibility with satellite connectivity, for sending and receiving messages in rich communication services.
