After the record price, the price of gold in the domestic market has decreased slightly. The price of the best quality or 22 carat (11.664 grams) gold has been reduced by Tk 1,750. In this, the price of one load of good quality gold is 1 lakh 11 thousand 158 taka.
This price has been reduced in view of the reduction in the price of acid gold (ripe gold) in the local market. Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) said that this price will be effective from tomorrow, Wednesday.
Before this, on March 7, the price of a lot of good quality gold One lakh 12 thousand 908 taka is determined. It broke all previous records and created a new record for the highest price of gold. After selling at a record price for 13 days, the price of gold has now decreased slightly.
Bajus Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring Committee meeting on Tuesday (March 19) decided to reduce the prices. Later this information was informed in a circular signed by the chairman of the committee, Masudur Rahman.
According to the notification, the price of acidic gold has decreased in the local market. Therefore, considering the overall situation, Bangladesh Jewelery Association has fixed the new price of gold, which will be effective from Wednesday (March 20).
According to the new price, the price of one bar of best quality or 22 carat gold has been reduced by Tk 1,750 to Tk 1,11,158. The price of a 21 carat gold bar has been reduced from Tk 1,633 to Tk 1,6,142.
Besides, the price of one 18 carat gold bar has been reduced by Tk 1,400 to Tk 90,979. The traditional gold price has been reduced by 1 thousand 166 taka to 75 thousand 816 taka.
However, buyers have to pay more than this to buy gold jewelry. Because gold jewelery is sold by adding 5 per cent VAT on the bajus set price. At the same time, the minimum wage per worker is 3 thousand 499 taka. As a result, buyers will have to pay 1 lakh 20 thousand 215 taka to buy a piece of 22 carat gold jewelry from tomorrow.
Earlier on March 7, the price of the best quality or 22 carat gold was increased by 2 thousand 217 taka to 1 lakh 12 thousand 908 taka. The price of 21 carat gold has been increased by 2 thousand 99 taka to 1 lakh 7 thousand 775 taka.
Besides, the price of one 18 carat gold bar has been increased by 1 thousand 800 taka to 92 thousand 379 taka. And according to the traditional method, the price of one load of gold was increased by 1 thousand 516 taka to 76 thousand 982 taka. Gold is being sold at this price till Tuesday.
Now the price of gold is increased but the price of silver remains unchanged. The price of 22 carat silver is 2 thousand 100 taka, 21 carat is 2 thousand 6 taka, 18 carat is 1 thousand 715 taka and traditional method is 1 thousand 283 taka.
