This morning, the head of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), Rosa Icela Rodríguez Velázquez, presented the actions that federal and state government authorities have taken regarding the crimes of fuel and automobile theft in the country. .

In this context, the federal official reported that Fuel theft, better known as “huachicoleo”, decreased 94.2 percentthanks to the actions implemented in terms of security, which translated into savings of 322 thousand 464 million 610 thousand 989 pesos, during December 1, 2018 to March 31.

Regarding the crime of vehicle theft, Rodríguez Velázquez pointed out that During March 2024, this crime presented a decrease of 49.3 percent, thus having said month at its lowest rate since records have been recorded.

Safe Booth Plan

Another of the actions that the head of the SSPC highlighted was the Safe Booth Plan, whose main objective is to guarantee the safety of highway users at any time of the year, because at the same time that the communication routes are protected, It encourages free transit and prevents economic losses derived from toll charges.

In this sense, it was explained that So far in 2024, the loss of 4,592 million pesos has been avoided. Until April 4, the program evaded a total of 66,303 million pesos.
