Franz Beckenbauer’s Wife Holds Back Tears Carrying the Euro 2024 Trophy

JAKARTA – The wife of the late Franz Beckenbauer, Heidi, paid an emotional tribute to her husband who became a German legend in the opening match Euro 2024 Germany vs Scotland.

Heidi joined two other German legends to pay a touching tribute.

Heidi carried the trophy on the pitch and held back tears as she blew a kiss to the sky after placing the Henri Delaunay trophy on the sidelines.

With Germany hosting the Euros this summer, a tribute was paid to the ‘Kaiser’, who was one of the country’s greatest players. The fans clapped in appreciation.

“Thank you for everything you have done for football, we will never forget you,” he wrote in the tribute quoted by the sun.

Heidi Beckenbauer was joined in the tribute by Germany’s two surviving European Championship-winning captains – Bernard Dietz and Jurgen Klinsmann.

Klinsmann became the man to wear the captain’s armband in 1990, while Dietz led Germany to European success in 1980.
