Vienna’s patient care is at stake
Vienna (OTS) – MP Wolfgang Seidl, health spokesman for the FPÖ Vienna, sharply criticizes the position of the Health Councilor Peter Hacker regarding a professional ban for doctors. Seidl makes it clear that Hacker’s short-sighted actions have contributed significantly to the current misery in the Viennese health system.
“In a recently published interview, City Councillor Hacker once again showed his unrealistic side. A professional ban for doctors is not only a populist measure, but also poses a massive threat to health care in Vienna,” explains Seidl. “It is frightening that Hacker apparently does not understand the consequences of his decisions.”
Seidl points out that Vienna’s health system is already under enormous pressure. “The situation in facilities such as the Ottakring Clinic is alarming. Instead of constructive solutions, Hacker is presenting immature concepts that are only making the situation worse,” Seidl continues. “The nurses and doctors are already working to their limits, and now they are being put under additional pressure by political mistakes.”
Seidl is particularly critical of the unequal treatment of employees within the healthcare system. “It cannot be that employees in party headquarters go home after 32 hours, while medical staff have to work until they drop. This is not only unfair, but also dangerous for patient care.”
Wolfgang Seidl is therefore calling for an immediate departure from Hacker’s policy of symbolic measures. “What we need are sustainable and well-thought-out solutions to resolve the shortage of nursing staff and to improve working conditions for doctors and nurses. The FPÖ Vienna will continue to exert pressure so that the interests of citizens and medical staff are finally heard,” Seidl concludes.
