Šimon came into the care of the association after he the master died. “It was sold to us by the survivors. He was apparently quite fixated on his master, we think he only lived with him,” said Kateřina Pešková, who now has Šimonek with her in Dvór Králové.
Time to get to know each other
Simon is, according to her a little of your own. “For me he is a wonderful dog, I have no problem with him, he just needs to be given time,” she said saying that Šimon is distrustful of new people and gets used to them slowly. “He’s not the type of dog that immediately runs up to everyone and wags his tail. He would therefore need to someone more patient, preferably someone who has already had a dog, someone who understands that they have to give him enough space to get to know him,” added.
To a peaceful family
That’s also why Šimon would be a good fit to a more peaceful family without children, where he would have his new master all to himself. On the contrary, he would probably welcome a canine companion because he is fine with other dogs. It even is also used to hens. If he lived in a house with a garden, he wouldn’t need any big walks, even if he can walk on a leash. He has hygienic habits, that might be why even in the apartment, but he shouldn’t climb too many stairs.
He likes to snack
When Šimon doesn’t like something, he knows how to show it by baring his teeth. But the temporary worker knows how to deal with him. “He communicates very well with treats, because he likes to snack. Together we handle all manipulations, injections, putting on the suit, collar, leashes. He can get into the crate, it’s no problem to lift him into the car, he’s nice while driving, he doesn’t bark.” she described.
Totally healthy
Šimonek has been in the care of the association for four months. “He is currently the dog that has been waiting the longest in the association for a home. At the same time, he is a wonderful dog, I would really like someone to choose him and give him a home.” Katerina said. She added that even though Šimon is already a senior dog, he has no health problems no restrictions, he only receives joint nutrition and supplements to improve his condition as a precaution.
