Rarely is the center of Prague as busy as this Saturday. Why? A traditional half-marathon took place in the middle of the capital of the Czech Republic, which recorded a record number of participants this year. In addition, more than one familiar face appeared at the prestigious event. Who exactly was it?
Almost fifteen and a half thousand. So many competitors, specifically 15,411, gathered at the starting line of this year’s half-marathon in Prague, which has been held since 1999. In the twenty-five years of existence of the famous sports event, which attracts people from all over the world, there have never been so many participants.
Famous personalities also arrived for the sports morning. For example, reigning world champion Sabastian Sawe from Kenya, who won this year’s race with a time of 58:24 seconds. At the same time, he set a personal record with this time. “I felt good, I tried to kick it,” Sawe approached.
Among other things, he broke the track record, which fell after twelve years. In addition to Sawe, Lisa Migliorini (30), a famous fitness influencer, also participated in the half-marathon, who met several supporters at the event. However, familiar faces from the country appeared.
Like, for example, star tennis player Karolína Muchová (27). “Who’s running tomorrow too?” the currently 12th player in the world asked her Instagram followers. On the day of the half-marathon, she filmed the race in progress, where there were people as far as the eye could see.
But it was not only famous people from the sports environment who decided to undertake the challenging route. Among the participants was the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic, Miloš Vystrčil (63). The Prague half-marathon thus proved once again that it attracts people not only from different corners of the industry, but also from different parts of the world.
