It is being claimed that a mob brutally beat up a Muslim youth and this case is from Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh. From the manner in which the video is being shared, it appears that the youth was beaten up on religious grounds.
Vishvas News in its investigation found this claim to be misleading. The viral video is of the incident that took place in Muzaffarnagar, but both the accused and the victim involved in it belong to the Muslim community.

Social media user ‘Islam, Quran and Hadith’ shared the viral video (archive Link) while sharing it, it is written, “Allegation of brutally beating Muslim youth Nadeem by tying him with a rope by the mob. The incident is said to be of March 4th!
The incident is being reported from Fulat village of Ratanpuri police station area of Muzaffarnagar, Sir @muzafarnagarpol, please take cognizance of the matter and take necessary action after investigation.

Responding to this video, the official handle of Muzaffarnagar Police said that a total of three accused have been arrested in this case and the accused and the victim in the case belong to the same community.
Vishvas News contacted Ratanpuri police station of Muzaffarnagar regarding the viral video. Police sub-inspector Akshay Sharma of Ratanpuri police station confirmed that this is not a communal matter and the victim and the accused in this case belong to the same community. “It was a molestation-related dispute and five people have been named in the case, out of which three have been arrested and two are absconding,” he said. Sharma said that all the accused are Muslims.
