A video clip related to Congress MLA Jagat Singh Negi’s criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Himachal Pradesh Assembly is being viral with the false claim that he criticized the Indian Prime Minister in the Parliament of Nepal.
New Delhi (Vishvas News). In a video clip viral on social media ahead of the first phase of Lok Sabha elections 2024, a leader inside a House can be seen and heard criticizing the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is being claimed that this video is from the Parliament of neighboring country Nepal, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is being criticized.
Vishvas News found this claim to be false in its investigation. The viral video is not of the Parliament of Nepal but of the proceedings of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly and the person seen in it is Himachal Congress MLA Jagat Singh Negi, who is currently the Revenue Minister in the state government.

Facebook user ‘Nitin Shiva’ went viral Video (archive LinkWhile sharing it, it is written, “The work done by Yashasvi Modi ji was counted in the Parliament of Nepal.”
Many others on different platforms of social media users has shared this video clip in a similar context.
investigation
The person seen in the viral video can be heard criticizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his policies in Hindi language. Also, the cap he is wearing is Himachali cap, which is commonly worn in Himachal Pradesh.
It is clear from this that the viral video is not of Nepal’s Parliament but of Himachal Pradesh. To find the original video, we did a Google reverse image search of the key frames of the viral video. During search, we found this video in the video bulletin uploaded on Live Times TV Himachal’s YouTube channel on March 17, 2021, which is related to the proceedings of Himachal Pradesh Assembly.
The frame after 1 minute 39 seconds in the 15 minute 29 second video belongs to the viral clip.
It is noteworthy that Negi is the Revenue Minister in the current Himachal Pradesh government. of Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Website But according to the available information, Negi has become MLA for the fifth time. He has again reached the Assembly after winning the 2022 elections from Kinnaur (ST) seat of Himachal.
We contacted our colleague Dainik Jagran’s Mandi correspondent Hansraj Saini regarding the viral video clip. He confirmed that the person seen in it is Congress MLA Jagat Singh Negi and this video is an old video of the proceedings of the Himachal Pradesh Assembly.
