Exciting victory for Unión Laguna; leaves the Sultans of Monterrey lying

Curacao native Darren Seferina hit his first home run in the Mexican Baseball League to lead the Algodoneros del Unión Laguna to leave the Sultanes of Monterrey on the field, beating them by a score of 5 runs to 4, in the first game that reaches the extra innings for the laguneros, who won the series by 2 games to 1.

Before a new full house at the Estadio de la Revolución, the Guindas overcame a 3-run deficit to tie the duel in the eighth inning and although they missed the opportunity to obtain victory in the ninth, when Nick Torres grounded out into a double play, Seferina, who had previously entered to run as a pinch-hitter, resolved the game with a shot through the entire right field, to unleash joy in the building on Juárez Avenue. Unión Laguna put its record at 9 wins and 9 losses, and gave the Sultanes their first series loss during the current season, to now start a full week of games as visitors, in Guadalajara and Aguascalientes, as they will return to Torreón until on Friday, May 10, when they will host the Saraperos of Saltillo.
