The Istanbul city administration of Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) has published an advertisement revealing the desire of CHP’s Ekrem Imamoglu to become the mayor.
Publika.az reports that the commercial was shared on the institution’s “X” page.
In the circle, the concept of municipalism and the chairmanship of the mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, Ekrem İmamoğlu, were highlighted in the public media. The commercial was also mentioned as an earlier broadcast of MHP’s promotion.
The theme of the advertisement was that the person portraying Imamoglu was on a boat in stormy weather. The initial difficulty experienced by a man trying to move forward with his boat in heavy rain and stormy weather is later revealed to be a publicity stunt. This refers to Imamoglu’s advertising and social media management. The fact that the boat with Imamoglu’s election slogan “Full speed forward in service to Istanbul” was written in the ad also drew attention to the fact that it could not move forward at all.
It should be noted that local municipal elections will be held in Turkey on March 31.
