MANCHESTER – Manchester City eliminated from Liga Champions 2023/2024. The Citizens coach, Pep Guardiola, immediately shifted his focus to the FA Cup.
Manchester City drew 1-1 with Real Madrid for 120 minutes in the second leg of this season’s Champions League quarter-finals. The match took place at the Etihad Stadium, Thursday (18/4/2024) early morning WIB.
Rodrygo (12′) silenced Manchester City fans, but Kevin De Bruyne (76′) was able to bring The Citizens to equalize the situation. Both teams got an aggregate of 4-4 until the match lasted 120 minutes and had to be decided by a penalty shootout.
Julian Alvarez, Phil Foden, Ederson Moraes scored Manchester City’s goals in the penalty shootout. Meanwhile, Mateo Kovacic and Bernardo Silva failed to carry out their duties.
Meanwhile, Luka Modric was the only Real Madrid kicker who failed to execute a penalty kick. Meanwhile, Jude Bellingham, Lucas Vazquez, Nacho and Antonio Rudiger successfully found the back of the Manchester City goal.
Real Madrid also confirmed a place in the 2023/2024 Champions League semifinals. El Real was also able to pay for last season’s failure, after suffering a 0-4 defeat at the Etihad Stadium.

The Spanish coach said Manchester City would travel to London to play the 2023/2024 FA Cup semi-final match. With defeat in the Champions League, it will be difficult for Manchester City to restore energy, but Pep Guardiola ensures that his team will perform as well as possible in the oldest competition in the world.
“On Friday (UK time) we will travel to London to play a match, so we’ll see. Friday and Saturday we will see how people react with their mood,” he said.
“Recovery is easy when you win. This is the FA Cup semifinal so we will compete as best we can,” he concluded.
Manchester City will face Chelsea in the 2023/2024 FA Cup semifinals which will take place at Wembley Stadium. Erling Haaland and his friends will also vent their disappointment from Real Madrid, so that they will perform optimally against the Blues, nicknamed Chelsea.
