The Minister of Defense, who is known for not going far for sharp words, reacted quickly to the provocative post. “Katerina, don’t drink so much, you lose your luster. Humanly, I understand that you are getting on your nerves, because you are now fighting for a “combat ration” in the form of additional millions of your MEP’s salary, but please don’t behave here like a dull and vulgar and primitive cow. Thank you,” wrote Černochová.
But it didn’t end there. Reactions from supporters and opponents of both politicians quickly began to multiply on the post. Among the comments, however, there was a reaction from Konečná herself. She decided not to let the sharp words of the minister be liked and wrote: “I understand the comments about drinking and the primitive cow – you certainly have a lot of experience with it… otherwise I am completely calm, because the day is approaching when we will say ENOUGH,” wrote the MEP, using the offered pun from the name of the coalition, which also includes communists.
However, Konečná did not forgive herself for the postscript and recalled Černochová’s statement last year, which was related to the resolution regarding the fighting between Israel and Hamas. She called, among other things, for a humanitarian ceasefire between the two sides. “PS When are we going to get out of the UN again,” Konečná asked.
Černochová has repeatedly faced criticism for her call to withdraw from the UN. “I am ashamed of the UN. In my opinion, the Czech Republic has nothing to look forward to in an organization that supports terrorists and does not respect the basic right to self-defense. Let’s get out,” the minister wrote at the time.
However, the verbal exchange between the politicians did not end there. Černochová did not like the insulting allusions and did not allow herself the opportunity to correct them. “Then it’s enough to say Konečná. And it was enough. PS It’s a shame that I don’t smoke and I don’t drink alcohol, so unfortunately I’m not the kind of “vodvaz” that my colleagues in the House of Commons remember with you. I wish you a good night,” the minister wrote.
