The agency’s biodiversity director, Manuel Rodríguez Muñoz, explained that proper maintenance of trees is essential before the season of dust devils and winds typical of the region, as they can be dangerous if they are not in adequate conditions, representing a risk for citizens and their properties.

The official said that to request the pruning permit, Interested parties must go to the agency with their personal data and specific information about the tree that requires attention, so the staff schedules a verification visit to evaluate the situation.

He indicated that once the verification is carried out, the percentage of pruning necessary is determined, to subsequently grant a written permit to the applicant, along with information about the closest transfer center for the correct deposit of the plant waste.

Rodríguez Muñoz He stressed that it is the responsibility of the owner of the property where the tree is located to carry out adequate maintenance.as contemplated by the Regulations for Sustainable Development and Environmental Protection, in addition to guaranteeing that pruning is carried out safely.

Immediate pruning of trees should be carried out when there are risks such as falling branches, damage to nearby buildings or when the physical integrity of people or their property is in danger.
