“Didn’t they say that the INE is not touched?”: Sheinbaum criticizes Xóchitl for using the institute’s logo

“They are already so desperate that they made some posters, spectacular ones that have the signature of the INE. Made by them, who say ‘social programs cannot be removed’ and people no longer believe them,” said the candidate when participating in the kick-off event of the local campaign.

“Didn’t they say that the INE is not touched? Well, who do you think is now using the INE logo illegally. “What happens is that the people of Mexico no longer believe him,” he added.

He said that, although now the opposition formed by PAN, PRI and PRD assures that they will maintain the social programs that were implemented during this six-year term, no one believes them because in the past they were against these supports and described them as welfare.

“Do you think that if they arrive they will defend social programs?” questioned the candidate, recalling that former president Vicente Fox described those who received some social program as “lazy.”

In her speech, the licensed head of the Mexico City government offered not only to maintain “out of conviction” social programs such as pensions for older adults, Building the Future scholarships, among others, but also to expand them.

Among other issues, he highlighted the unity that supposedly persists in Morena after the candidate selection process and at this start of the campaign.

“In Puebla and throughout the country we have shown that in our movement, above all, the project and the transformation are. A lot of unity has been done here and also at the national level and in all the states and that gives us enormous strength, it makes us a single movement that seeks continuity and progress with the fourth transformation,” he expressed.
