When 2,805 of her “herring” on Instagram read the gloomy confession, they got chills. Tereza Fišerová (26), the vice-champion of the world in canoeing in 2017, described what hell looks like!
In the summer, it will be three years since Tereza took sixth place at the Tokyo Games. She mourned him and consoled herself at the same time: “There will be more Olympics like this.” But… The preparation for Paris of the graduate of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports was ruined by her psyche. “In January, after my state papers and before leaving for Australia, I had a complete mental breakdown and breakdown,” she admitted.
It came together
She couldn’t even feel the paddle and the rapids. “Depression and anxiety came,” described Teresa. What happened? “There are probably more reasons, and the situation was so serious that I had to take a break from the water and training.” A month ago, she said, she couldn’t even imagine getting back on the ship. However, with partner and mentor Jakub, they came up with the idea of an alternative preparation. Then she embarked on a nomination adventure, she got a new taste.
Paris in the stars
But she only made it to the upcoming European Championships thanks to Gabriela Satková, who gave her her place in the kayak because she is concentrating on the canoe. However, Tereza only has a real chance at the Olympics in the spectator-attractive kayak cross, a race of quads, which will have its premiere under five circles. But now other things are more important to her. “It’s still not good, but I feel a lot of progress. I am extremely proud of myself for being able to come back,” she is happy to take her first step back into the limelight.
