The risk of lack of blood resources in treatment and emergency after the Lunar New Year is a situation that occurs every year, because this is the time when workers and students – the main force participating in voluntary blood donation – return home to celebrate the long Tet holiday. . Regular blood donation activities are temporarily suspended.

Therefore, on the first working day after the Lunar New Year holiday, the Department of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, Da Nang Hospital posted information calling for people to come to the hospital to donate blood.

The activity not only helps provide additional blood reserves for the hospital’s treatment and emergency purposes, but also has a humanitarian meaning, providing practical help from the community to patients in need of blood for treatment.

Participating in donating blood at the hospital, Mr. Tran Van Hieu (resident of Hai Chau district) said that he had just returned from his hometown to Da Nang and was preparing to work again.

“Reading that the hospital needed blood, I took advantage of the early morning hours of my first working day to donate blood. At the beginning of the new year, there must be many events and activities that attract many people to participate, but I choose to donate blood at the beginning of spring as a meaningful volunteer activity for myself and my family. . I also shared this information on my personal Facebook page for friends to know, participate, and share with the community” – Mr. Hieu said. Representative of the Department of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, Da Nang Hospital said. On the morning of February 15, 40 people and medical staff came to donate blood. The unit will continue to mobilize people and hospital staff to donate blood in the following days.
