During her live video, Yoliene expressed her amazement at the well-stocked supermarkets in Trinidad and Tobago compared to the scarcity of Cuban stores. She also praised the reliable internet connection that allowed her to go live for the first time.

Accompanied by Hildina

Yoliene was joined by fellow Cuban YouTuber Hilda Núñez Díaz, also known as Hildina, who decided to relocate to Trinidad and Tobago in May due to harassment from State Security.

Earlier in June, Hildina received a plaque for surpassing 100,000 followers on her YouTube channel, a milestone she achieved in December. Currently, her channel has more than double that number of subscribers.

Upon receiving the plaque, Hildina expressed her determination to continue climbing the ladder of success, stating, “Only those who give up lose, and I have always believed that giving up is not an option.”

In conclusion, Yoliene expressed her gratitude to God, the universe, her supporters, and herself for the opportunity to experience this journey. She emphasized her commitment to keep fighting and viewing setbacks as significant challenges. She assured her followers that they can expect more content from her in the future.

What are some of the challenges faced by content creators in Cuba, and how have these obstacles impacted their ability to express themselves freely?

Some challenges faced by content creators in Cuba include government censorship and limited access to the internet. The Cuban government tightly controls the media and maintains strict restrictions on freedom of expression. It often censors and restricts content that criticizes the government or promotes ideas contrary to their ideology.

Internet access in Cuba is low and expensive, which severely limits the ability of content creators to reach a wider audience. The limited availability of internet also hinders the ability to access and share information, connect with others, and collaborate on creative projects.

Moreover, self-censorship is prevalent among content creators due to fear of government backlash or punishment. Many creators feel pressured to conform to state-approved narratives and avoid discussing sensitive topics.

These obstacles greatly impact content creators’ ability to express themselves freely. They are forced to navigate a complex system of regulations and red tape, which restricts their creativity and forces them to limit the scope of their work. The lack of internet access and restrictions on information flow also limit their ability to engage with a global audience and keep up with international trends and developments.

Overall, these challenges hinder the free expression of ideas and limit the diversity of voices in the Cuban media landscape. Content creators face constant barriers that impede their ability to freely express themselves and share their work with the world.
