Madagascar Senator Herimanana Razafimahefa recently met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Germany, SEM Mickael Häusler, on the occasion of the New Year.
The two parties discussed the projects to be implemented for this year 2024 as part of the strengthening of German-Malagasy friendship ties, with a view to contributing to the socio-economic development of Madagascar. Indeed, ” our relations are not new. We have therefore taken stock of the cooperation that was carried out last year. Since these relations have always been good and continue, we will carry out projects together affecting, among other things, the environment and the conservation of biodiversity, which is one of the priority sectors financed by the German government in the country. “, explained the senator of Madagascar, Herimanana Razafimahefa, to the press.
Education Project
It should be remembered that Germany made its contribution as part of the implementation of the large-scale reforestation project by the Senate and of which this parliamentarian was the initiator, last year. This partner country is also the main donor of the Big Island in the field of environmental preservation, while supporting vulnerable local communities to be resilient in the face of the harmful effects of climate change. But bilateral cooperation is not limited to this area. It also extends to other sectors such as energy and good governance, the promotion of cultural cooperation, agriculture and education. Reason why the establishment of another project, affecting the education of children from disadvantaged groups in rural areas, was also the subject of discussions between Senator Herimanana Razafimahefa and the ambassador of the Republic of Germany, HE Mickael Häusler, during their friendly meeting. The two parties then discussed the situation at the international level as well as the future of Madagascar during this second term of President of the Republic Andry Rajoelina.
