Muaz is the son of Zulkarnain Rader, a former student of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Shabiprobi) Department of Economics and a former organizer of the university’s sports-based organization Sports SUST. He is suffering from a terminal illness and is lying in a hospital bed in severe pain. The child is being given morphine, an acute pain reliever, every four hours.

Relatives said that a tumor was recently detected near Muaz’s anus. Currently, it is quite large and hard, making biopsy risky. In this condition, the child is under treatment at Al Manar Hospital in Dhaka for the past one month. He was given two rounds of chemotherapy. But it didn’t work. The tumor has now stopped enlarging the anus. In this situation, colostomy surgery was done on the day after Ramadan Eid.

Meanwhile, a new protocol of chemotherapy has started on April 20. According to the plan of the doctors, a total of 40 days of chemotherapy will be given in eight cycles (one cycle lasting five days) at intervals of 21 days. Besides, the doctors also said to remove the tumor by surgery. In the meantime, the family has spent more than 8 lakh rupees for treatment.

However, the doctors of the country have advised to take Muaz abroad for treatment soon. Muaz is being treated at the Tata Memorial Cancer Hospital in Mumbai, India. But initially more than 50 lakh rupees are required for this.
