A bandit who had committed a successful bank robbery in the Austrian city of Innsbruck dropped part of the loot while fleeing. The police were able to recover several thousand euro notes of 100 and 200 euros.

The bank robbery took place at 11:27 am on Tuesday. A man wearing a black hoodie who partially hid his face behind a face mask grabbed a bank teller and threatened her with a firearm. In English, he demanded that the safe be opened and that she hand him all the money.

After the employee opened the safe with a key, she gave the robber a quantity of banknotes. How much is not known. The man then left the bank branch and fled in the direction of the Innpromenade, nearby.

But along the way, due to a clumsiness, he lost part of the loot, several thousand euros in 100 and 200 euro notes.

The police are now looking for a slim man, approximately 1.70 meters tall and 25 to 40 years old. They distributed images of the suspect on Tuesday, taken by the security cameras in the bank.

Based on testimonies and camera images, the investigators strongly believe that the same perpetrator has previously struck in the region. A man matching the same description robbed a Volksbank branch in Kufstein, also in Tyrol, on November 28. Two Sparkasse branches were targeted on January 11 and March 20.

It is not known how much the loot was from all those robberies. But it is assumed that it was always the same perpetrator.
