Cesar will host the national meeting of the elderly

Due to the infrastructure in high-quality settings, the Ministry of Sports selected this department as the venue for the National Meeting of the New Beginning – Another reason to live program.

This is how during the months of October and November 2023, more than 500 older adults will meet in this territory, whom the Government of Cesar will receive with great affection and love, in the midst of the competitions in which they will demonstrate their talent in the different disciplines.

“Today with the great news for the department of Cesar, which has been selected to hold the final of the Nuevo Comienzo program. Many congratulations to the department,” said the Director of Promotion and Development of the Ministry of Sports, Sandra Forero, during her visit to Cesar.

The national meeting seeks to promote social inclusion through sports and recreation for older adults.

“The choice of Valledupar as the venue demonstrates the commitment of the Ministry of Sports and local authorities to promote the inclusion and development of the elderly population. Furthermore, this designation recognizes the management carried out by the Government of Cesar, in the promotion of opportunities and the empowerment of older adults,” said the head of the Social Policy Office, Juan Carlos Mindiola.

The decision was made after the visit carried out on June 7 and 8 by the national sports authorities and after evaluating the sports facilities, accommodation capacity and infrastructure necessary to guarantee the success of the event.
