On the night of October 8, the name of the winner of the fifth season of MasterChef Colombia was known, Adrián Parada, Carolina Acevedo, Daniela Tapía and Nela González had to present to the jury a menu with four preparations with which they sought to be the winners of the reality show. .

After presenting the four courses of the menu and receiving criticism from the jury, MasterChef ended with Carolina Acevedo as the winner of the program.

In the previous chapter, a video was presented in which the best moments of the four finalists during the program were remembered; in addition to the entry of three family members per participant who will accompany them while they cook in their last test.

In addition to being recognized as the best cook of the season, the winner received a prize of 200 million, the same value that was awarded to Ramiro Meneses, winner in the previous edition.

During the last minutes of the episode on October 7, the chefs revealed details of what the menu they will present to the jury will be. Carolina Acevedo stated that she sought to pay tribute to Tolima by presenting a corn cream, smoked duck and trout, for dessert she presented ice cream.

For her part, Daniela Tapia stated that she would cook a tribute to her family, including some of her favorite dishes; That’s why she prepared prawns with Thai curry – her brother’s favorite – and a snapper and pork fillet – her mother’s favorite -. Adrián Parada, for his part, decided to take a tour of Latin America, so he presented corn sopes with beans and lamb as the main course.

Finally, Nela also referred to her roots; She pointed out that she would pay tribute to Spain – where her mother is from –, another to Venezuela – the land where the actress was born – and finally one to Colombia, where she assured that she found herself. Among her preparations were some short wheat flour, crab meat and lamb chops.

Appetizer

Carolina Acevedo’s dish was the first that the chefs tried, all three stated that it was a simple preparation, but with a good flavor, highlighting that it had been a good start for the actress.

“It is a simple dish, but with a lot of flavor,” said Nicolás de Zubiria.

As for what was presented by Daniela Tapia, the jurors highlighted the presentation and the sauce; However, Rausch explained that the noodles were part of a cuisine of the past, being the first negative detail found, for his part, Carpentier assured that for his taste it was oversalted.

“The plating is beautiful, I like the detail of the flower,” were the words of chef Rausch.

Adrián Parada’s entry stood out for the plating, but the chefs detailed that the dough had been hard due to lack of moisture, and although they highlighted how risky it was to present a Mexican preparation, they found several negative details.

“I think the sauce lacks power, I don’t know what the bean contributes inside,” was Carpentier’s verdict on Adrián’s entry.

Regarding the dish delivered by Nela, Nicolás de Zubiria stated that he had problems with the plating and the intensity of the flavors, being the finalist who received the most negative details regarding his entry.

“The dish is very small, what I like least about the dish is the sprout, but it seems too intense to me,” said de Zubiria.

First main course

Regarding the trout presented by Carolina Acevedo, Nicolás de Zubiria highlighted that the actress presented a cooked part and another cooked part; However, Christopher Carpentier criticized the contrast of the sauce, stating that more salt was missing in a main dish.

“Very well thought out, unbeatable,” explained Nicolás de Zubiria.

Regarding the red snapper that Daniela Tapia prepared, Rausch stated that it is negative to put the sauce on the protein, but assured that the cooking was positive; while Nicolás de Zubiria found several thorns in his plate, a mistake that is crucial and had been noted during the season.

“Oil is a decoration, but not when you mix it with anything else,” were the words of Christopher Carpentier.

Adrián’s first main dish received praise, but Jorge Rausch pointed out that it had sweet tones that were exaggerated, which took away the prominence of the shrimp, and although the participant claimed that it was a false tartar, the chefs found several errors in the cooking of the other ingredients.

“You have to accept a raw shrimp, but not the cut,” said Rausch.

The last preparation to be tested by the juries was that of Nela González; The chefs detailed that it was an interesting and well-presented preparation, but they had problems with the amount of salt; however, it was the dish that received the least criticism in the round.

There were no shortage of accidents: during the preparation of their second main course, Adrián and Daniela suffered accidents in the kitchen; While the comedian cut one of his fingers, the Cuban woman did not realize that he still had a frying pan on the stove and burned himself while holding the utensil.

Second main course

Regarding Carolina’s second main course, the chefs highlighted the point of the smoked duck, but for Nicolás de Zubiria it was too sweet for a main course; For Jorge and Christopher, a touch of acid was missing.

“The duck is good, I think the chocolate sauce doesn’t work,” said de Zubiria.

Regarding the pork with Creole mashed potatoes presented by Daniela, the jury stated that the protein was overcooked, so they stated that it had rich factors, but that it was not their best dish.

“To rescue the foam that is delicious,” were the words of Jorge Rausch

Adrián was the chef who came out the worst among the finalists, since part of his lamb was raw, which decreased his chances of winning the 200 million prize.

“I don’t understand what happened to Adrián here,” Rausch said.

Nela received several positive points, her lamb was cooked well, but several details made the chefs’ words worse with each spoonful.

Dessert

The last dish presented by Carolina Acevedo received multiple praises, so the jurors found no negative details.

“Finally a good cream, lulo obviously works very well,” said Christopher Carpentier.

The dessert that Daniela prepared delighted the chefs; Nicolás de Zubiria assured that the sweet was well balanced, while Carpentier praised the way he served it.

“The dessert is very well prepared, I love the filling and the sweetness,” said Jorge Rausch.

Regarding the preparation carried out by Adrián, Rausch stated that the cookie was raw, while Nicolás de Zubiria assured that he had performed the same trick on all his dishes.

“It doesn’t catch my attention, the excess of gold dust,” said the Zubiria chef.

Finally, regarding Nela González’s dessert, the jury ruled that there were rice dishes that were raw, which was a serious error for a rice pudding, while the other details were well received.

“The rice looks raw, the torrija spectacular, and the cream very well whipped,” was Carpentier’s verdict.
