The African Football Confederation (CAF) denied the appeal filed by 1°De Agosto, following the scandal that occurred in Tanzania, in which the Angolan club claims to have been harmed.
The decision of the governing body of football on the continent’s birthplace was announced in a note, in which CAF says that the military club had not presented conclusive evidence regarding the accusation made against the Tanzanian authorities.
In its indictment, the Rio Seco club declares that “false positives” were presented to the tests carried out by its players before the game, as a way of harming the club, which was defeated in the first leg of the tie against Namungo FC, by 6 -two.
At the end of the round, 1° De Agosto ended up eliminated with an aggregate result of 7-5, so CAF assured that Namungo FC will compete in the group stage of the Confederation Cup.
