The adjusted operating profit or EBIT (profit before taxes and interest) fell by 15.5 million euros to 62.1 million euros.

For Belgium, total operating income amounted to 565.8 million euros. Mail volume experienced an underlying decline of 6.7 percent, parcel volumes increased by 2.9 percent.

“In Belgium, the results show resilience,” says Bpost CEO Chris Peeters. “We recently reached a milestone by concluding an agreement with Flemish publishers on newspaper distribution. We are doing our utmost to do the same with French-language publishers soon.”

”While our Eurasian operations continue on their growth path, our revenues in North America remain under pressure from adverse market conditions. We are taking the necessary measures to compensate for this through a continued focus on productivity gains,” said Peeters.
